Enterprise application ecosystems are fragmented by nature

Growing organisations accumulate systems: an ERP implemented ten years ago, a CRM chosen by the sales team, a sector-specific warehouse management system, SaaS platforms adopted for convenience. Each works well within its own domain. The problem lies at the boundaries between them.

Duplicated data, manual updates, CSV export/import cycles, misalignments that only surface when a customer complains: these are the symptoms of an unintegrated ecosystem. The hidden cost of this friction is often far higher than it appears.

We don't replace systems that work. We build the orchestration layer that makes them work together.

Duplicated data

The same information exists in 3 different systems with 3 different versions. Which is the source of truth?

Operational latency

Hours or days to synchronise orders, invoices, or master data across business systems.

Manual dependency

Staff dedicated to manually exporting and importing data — a process that doesn't scale and introduces errors.

Vendor lock-in

Inability to replace a system because it is connected to the others in a fragile, tightly coupled manner.

API-first integration layer:
robust, observable, maintainable

We don't build point-to-point connections that turn into spaghetti within six months. We design a centralised integration layer with structured governance, logging, and monitoring.

1

Ecosystem mapping

A complete inventory of existing systems, their APIs or export interfaces, current data flows (including manual ones), and latency requirements for each critical process.

2

Integration architecture design

Selection of the most appropriate pattern: ESB, event-driven with message broker, API gateway with orchestration, or cloud integration platform. Definition of the canonical data model and transformation rules.

3

Connector and orchestration layer development

Implementation of connectors for each system, with error handling, retry policies, dead-letter queues, and idempotency. Every connector is tested in isolation before integration.

4

End-to-end testing and data migration

Flow testing in a staging environment with anonymised real data. Historical data migration plan and cutover strategy to minimise the risk of operational disruption.

5

Structured monitoring and alerting

Centralised dashboard with visibility across all flows, latency, errors, and throughput. Proactive alerting on anomalies before they become incidents visible to end users.

Systems we integrate

We work with the application ecosystem you already have — regardless of vendor, version, or protocol.

Every integration layer includes automatic rollback in the event of a critical error, and complete dependency documentation — ensuring you can evolve or replace systems without constraint.

How AI enhances integration

Intelligent integration: AI that learns to orchestrate

Intelligent anomaly detection: AI identifies anomalous patterns in data flows before they cause production errors.
Automated data mapping: AI-assisted mapping and transformation of heterogeneous data schemas, with human validation.
Bottleneck forecasting: Predictive analysis of transaction volumes to proactively scale the integration layer.

Multi-ERP orchestration in a manufacturing environment

The Challenge: a manufacturing company operating across multiple sites ran three heterogeneous ERPs, a legacy WMS, and a B2B e-commerce platform. The lack of synchronisation generated inconsistent data and operational delays.

The Solution: an API-first integration layer with an event-driven message broker, custom connectors for each system, error handling with dead-letter queues, and a centralised monitoring dashboard.

Technical and contractual
guarantees on every integration project

A poorly built integration layer is more dangerous than having none at all. That is why every project includes explicit, verifiable guarantees.

Automatic rollback

Every connector includes fail-safes, dead-letter queues, and a tested rollback procedure. If a flow fails, data is not lost and the system returns to its previous state in a controlled manner.

Operational guarantee

Zero downtime at migration

The cutover strategy is designed to never interrupt operations. Existing flows remain active until the new integration layer is fully validated.

Complete documentation

Full integration layer documentation delivered at go-live: flow maps, API contracts, transformation rules, operating procedures. Updated with every change.

IP ownership with the client

The connector and orchestration layer code belongs entirely to the client. No vendor lock-in: you can evolve, replace, or internalise in the future without barriers.

Active monitoring from day one

Centralised dashboard with visibility across all flows, live from the first day in production. Alerting configured before go-live — not after the first incident.

Post go-live SLA

A maintenance contract with guaranteed response times is included in the project for the first 3 months. Extendable with an ongoing Application Management agreement.

Point-to-point connections seem simpler.
Until they aren't.

Point-to-point connections:
  • Spaghetti architecture: every system depends on all the others
  • Changing one system breaks existing integrations
  • No centralised visibility over data flows
  • Debugging impossible without up-to-date documentation
  • Adding a new system requires rewriting existing connections
  • Silent errors: data drifts out of alignment without anyone noticing
TC Consulting · Integration Layer
  • Centralised architecture with governance and clear API contracts
  • Decoupled systems: every change is isolated and safe
  • End-to-end monitoring on every flow with complete audit trail
  • Structured debugging with centralised logs and message replay
  • Adding new systems requires no changes to existing integrations
  • Proactive alerting: issues are detected before users notice them

From a one-off project to ongoing management

The model adapts to your situation: a specific integration or the evolutionary management of your entire application ecosystem.

Integration project

Design and development of the integration layer for a defined set of systems. Fixed budget, clear deliverables, complete documentation at go-live. Ideal for organisations with a stable ecosystem to connect.

Continuous evolution

A dedicated team to manage an evolving ecosystem: new systems to integrate, modifications to existing connectors, monitoring and maintenance. Ideal for organisations that change their systems frequently.

Staff Augmentation

Our integration specialists work alongside your team on specific projects. Ideal for organisations with in-house capabilities that require expertise in specific technologies or patterns.

Sectors where we know every detail

In certain contexts, integration expertise alone is not enough — you need in-depth knowledge of sector-specific protocols, regulations, and systems. In healthcare and logistics, we have been doing this for years.

Healthcare Systems · HL7 & FHIR

We integrate HIS, LIS, RIS, and Electronic Health Records (EHR) with full command of HL7 v2/v3 and FHIR R4 protocols. We manage ADT, ORM/ORU, results, bookings, and patient registries — with rigorous attention to healthcare data privacy regulations and regional specifications.

Logistics & Supply Chain · EDI

We implement EDI flows on EDIFACT and X12 standards — ORDERS, DESADV, INVOIC, RECADV — with AS2, SFTP, and VAN transport. We manage trading partner onboarding, message mapping, and integration with WMS, TMS, and ERP systems, including legacy systems with proprietary formats.

What we get asked before signing

How long does an integration project typically take?

An integration between two systems with well-documented APIs typically takes 4–8 weeks. A complete integration layer for 4–6 heterogeneous systems requires 3–5 months. The main variable is the quality of the APIs or export interfaces of the systems involved: legacy systems without APIs or with undocumented interfaces require more time during the analysis phase. Before providing any estimate, we conduct a free technical analysis of your ecosystem.

What happens if one of the systems to be integrated does not have an API?

This is a common situation, especially with legacy systems or outdated ERPs. There are several options available: connectors based on direct database access, structured file exchange (SFTP, EDI), user interface scraping as a last resort, or — in some cases — upgrading the system to a version that supports APIs. During the mapping phase, we identify the least risky approach for each system, providing a clear cost and complexity estimate.

How do you handle historical data migration?

Historical data migration is a separate project from the integration layer, though often interconnected. We handle it through a dedicated process: analysing the quality of source data, defining transformation and cleanup rules, migrating to a staging environment for validation, and executing the final migration with a guaranteed rollback. We never migrate data directly into production without full validation in a pre-production environment.

Who maintains the integration layer after go-live?

The 3 months following go-live are covered by our standard contract. For long-term maintenance, we offer ongoing management contracts with defined SLAs — ideal for companies that prefer not to manage integration flows internally. Alternatively, we hand over all the necessary documentation and know-how required to manage the integration layer with an in-house team or another vendor.

Can we add new systems in the future without rewriting everything?

This is the foundational principle of our design approach. The integration layer is engineered with a decoupled architecture: each system has its own independent connector, and the orchestration layer manages the data flows. Adding a new system means developing a new connector, without touching existing ones. The documentation includes comprehensive architectural guidelines for future extensions.

How do you ensure sensitive data is not exposed during integration flows?

Data security is baked into the architectural design, not treated as an afterthought. Every integration layer includes: data encryption in transit (TLS 1.3), encryption at rest where required, access control for each connector, audit logs for all flows, and masking of sensitive data within logs. For ISO 27001 certified systems, a review of the integration layer's security posture is included in the annual audit process.
